Q&A

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO JOIN THE CLUB?

While we don't have a set age, we recommend girls to be at least 6 years old in order to have the dedication and coordination to succeed at the 8U level.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE CLUB?

Different age groups have different costs. Our 8U and 10U teams are $430, and our 12U teams are $480. These costs include a jersey, all league play, tournaments, umpires, team equipment, and insurance.

WHAT GEAR DOES MY DAUGHTER NEED?

Each girl will need supply her own bat, helmet with face guard, outfielder mask, glove, and any additional gear they might want, such as batting gloves, sliding shorts, etc. The jersey is included in the dues, as well as socks and belt, but families are responsible for providing black pants, and cleats.

DO YOU TRAVEL FAR FOR TOURNAMENTS?

We try to keep tournaments somewhat local, within an hour or so of the corridor area. Our furthest tournament is usually State, which takes place over a weekend in Des Moines or the Quad Cities.

WILL THERE BE A 9U OR A 13U/14U TEAM?

Currently, the club has 7U,  8U,  10U, 12U and 13U teams. We want to continue to grow the club and will start off by looking at adding these additional teams. In order to make odd year teams happen, we will just need to make sure we have 2 strong 10U teams first, along with enough pitchers who are dedicated to continuing to learn to pitch. If we have enough girls who can pitch for 10U and 9U as well as enough girls to fill the roster we will be able to make this happen.

As for the 14U team, this team will be a fall season only team. 8th graders will play up to a high school level in the spring, which does not leave time for them to play club ball. If in the future we have enough girls who are 7th graders to make a full fall/spring 13U team, we will do our best to accommodate that!

AT WHAT POINT DOES MY DAUGHTER NEED TO THINK ABOUT PITCHING?

Player pitch starts at the 9U/10U level. Ideally, girls who are interested in pitching would start taking lessons during the 8U seasons. That way, they have some mechanics down before starting 9U/10U.

Pitching lessons are not provided through the club,  but we can certainly provide names of instructors that have helped many of our players learn the position!
